Moscow has always been a special place for me. I would like to help it to be a special place for all citizens.
I first came to Moscow in 1972 to attend the University. After 2 years in the Peace Corps (Niger, Africa) and 2 years as a government observer on long duration tuna boat trips, I secured my job for the next 31 years with the USDA-ARS Western Wheat Quality Lab on WSU's campus. I have lived in Moscow continuously since 1980. After retirement from the USDA, I established ADB Wheat Consulting as a second career. But in the meantime, I became involved in city government. I served for a decade on Moscow's Planning and Zoning Commission (2003 - 2013), 7 of those years as chairman. Subsequently, I have had the honor of being elected to 2 terms on Moscow's City Council. As the position of Mayor is open this election, I feel the time is right to run for that office and bring my 18 years of municipal government to that office. I am focused on continuing my rational, pragmatic and middle-of-the-road approach to government when elected. Please visit the Leadership and Vision pages on this site to learn more fully how I view issues of today and moving into the future. Also, please donate to the campaign if you can, or let us know if you would like a yard sign. But mostly, please vote in the upcoming November 3 election. It is important to the future of Moscow to have experienced leadership in these interesting times. |
